15 March 2020
To all members of Post 194,
We are facing an unprecedented situation in our communities, state, and nation in dealing with COVID-19. Our number one priority is always to take care of our veterans and their families. The situation is changing daily, and it is likely that even by the time you have received this letter, there will be new information and orders that have been issued.
With the rapid changes and developments, some may be experiencing challenges we didn’t anticipate. Things like getting groceries or medication, financial assistance or the most basic human need of having connection may now be areas in which you need help. It is exactly these times that we can step up to help one another and help in our community. If you are in need of any assistance, we are establishing the following: You can email us at email@example.com or call our post at 513.336.9568. If you are willing and able to help in any way please also let us know by calling or emailing.
Based on the order of Governor Mike DeWine, effective 2100 hours on 15 March 2020 our Canteen will be closed until the Governor lifts the ban, and we deem it safe as an Executive Committee. We are taking steps to ensure we remain financially stable and ensure we help our bartenders through this time.
Communicating via the Postal System is slow and expensive. We are taking this step to ensure we reach every member. For more timely information, we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally we will be posting communication on our webpage, www.masonamericanlegion.org and on our Facebook page.
Our Chaplain, Dr. Daniels, is requesting all of us daily at 6pm take a moment to say a prayer for our Members, our Community, State and Nation.
Thank you for the work you do to take care of our members and their families.
David Charpentier, Marsha Giehls, Kevin Shew and Mike “Hoppy” Wylds
