Yesterday on the 80th anniversary of #worldwar2, the #cityofmason visited and honored Mason's World War II veterans at The Christian Village at Mason and Spectrum Retirement Communities, LLC.
The day of September 2 is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by the Greatest Generation to preserve our freedoms and way of life. We are grateful to the veterans whose sacrifice and service made this possible, and hope that this ceremony and commemorative gifts might play a small part in honoring their legacy.
Hear their stories at the City's next Council Meeting on Monday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m., where a special tribute video featuring recent interviews with Mason's World War II veterans will be shown as we aim to preserve their legacy.
Our Color Guard, Commander and several members were a part of the day. Enjoy a few pictures below.
